At Surrey Place Centre (SPC), our vision is Living Your Potential – All Your Life! In 2016-17 we provided specialized clinical services to over 7,000 individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and visual impairments, 78% of those individuals were infants, children and youth. While many of these individuals face significant communication challenges, there are limited resources to provide augmentative communication aids, devices and supports. In fact, SPC runs the only Augmentative Communication Clinic in Toronto for both children and adults living with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
Cresa Toronto’s $40,000 donation to SPC will provide more infants, children, youth and their families and caregivers with faster access to these critical aids, devices and supports. Research studies show that this is essential to enhancing the learning of language, form and content, resulting in significant improvements in quality of life for people.
“We are thrilled to have a partnership with Cresa Toronto that has helped us match our expansion space needs with availability in the Toronto Region as well as honour our organization’s mission, vision and values.”
