Yesterday, the Ontario government announced that the first stage of reopening will begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. The provincial government also emphasized that it is essential when reopening to follow the recommendations of public health authorities, and whenever possible, provide services by phone or videoconferencing.
Your well-being is our priority, and our Infection Prevention and Control Team has been working diligently on a plan to reopen that will ensure the safety of staff, clients, families and visitors. We will not reopen our doors until this comprehensive plan is in place.
In the meantime, we will continue to offer our Telehealth services. Using technology, like phone or videoconferencing, our clinicians are available to meet with clients, even when they are not near each other. The service delivery may be new for some people, but it’s the same high-quality service for which Surrey Place is known.
If you are a current Surrey Place client, please don’t hesitate to contact your clinician if you have any questions about your service; and if you are new to Surrey Place, our Intake Services remain open. For children and youth programs, call 1-833-575-5437, and to learn more about our adult programs, call 1-855-372-3858.
We appreciate your support and understanding, and you will hear from us again on Friday, May 29, with another office closure update.
Stay safe and be well,
Dr. Terri Hewitt, C. Psych.
Interim Chief Executive Officer
