Family Quality of Life Project
Family Quality of Life Project
In 1997 researchers from Australia, Canada and Israel initiated the International Family Quality of Life Project, which examines the quality of life of families with member(s) with an intellectual or developmental disability. The project offers a glimpse into lived experiences with challenges, resources, achievements and support. Surrey Place is a lead organization on this project, alongside many other research partners from around the world.
Surveys
The Family Quality of Life Project Survey is structured in three parts to encourage honesty and detail. Additionally, participants and families are asked a series of questions in nine key areas that reflect important aspects of family life. The survey is available in two versions: Main caregivers of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and General version (non-disability). These have been translated into a number of different languages.
