It is recommended that your child be enrolled in a structured early childhood education program as a form of early intervention. Due to lengthy waitlists for a childcare program, it is important that you contact each program you are interested in and place your child’s name on the waitlist as soon as possible.

INSTRUCTIONS
Follow the steps below to find suitable child care.
Step 1
To find child care centers in your area that are licensed by the City of Toronto, please visit www.toronto.ca/children.
Step 2
Scroll down the page and click ‘Licensed Child Care’.
Step 3
To locate childcare in your area, click the blue ‘Child Care & Before and After School Program Locator’ button.
Step 4
Type in your address to find childcare near your area.
Step 5
Use the filters to narrow your search.
Step 6
Select a location from the results below.
Note: Child care centers will show if they accept the Child Care Subsidy Fee.
Step 7
Click ‘View Details’ to be taken to the page below that outlines specific program information for the center you are interested in (e.g. contact name and phone number).
Step 8
Contact the location you are interested in to register your child or be put on a waitlist. Note: Click link to a childcare location of interest to access website and individual application processes.
Final Tips
It is a good idea to check the ratings of centers or visit them before you apply.
If you are having any difficulty applying, you can call Toronto Children’s Services at 416-338-8888 and press 2 for assistance with getting on waitlists.
Set up a My Child Care Account online.
When a child care center connects with you once a space becomes available, contact your caseworker so that they can let the center’s contact know when you have been approved for your fee subsidy (if applicable).
