Toe-walking is a walking pattern when an individual walks on their toes or balls of their feet and there is no contact between the heels and the ground. Toe walking is not a part of normal development but a visible symptom of other problems that have not become evident yet.
As with most developmental issues, it is best dealt with quickly, efficiently & cost-effectively in order to reduce the chances of larger issues in the future such as pain & dysfunction. The Surrey Place Physiotherapy department has developed three useful resources to help you support your child or teen with “toe-walking” at home.
