Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder. At Surrey Place, we know how important it is for you and your family to get answers quickly. A combined ASD diagnosis and psychoeducational report will give your family access to autism services while also helping to prepare for the next steps for your child or teen’s education.
Our Combined ASD Diagnostic and Psychoeducational Assessment will allow for the diagnosis of ASD if warranted, while also providing valuable information about your child’s cognitive, academic, and everyday functioning to better understand your child’s strengths and challenges.
If your child is between the ages of 7 and 17 years old and you are concerned about their social, communication or behavioural development, you can obtain a combined ASD Diagnostic and Psychoeducational Assessment at Surrey Place.
Combined Assessment steps:
Assessment
Our team will conduct a thorough developmental history and an assessment of your child’s cognitive skills, academic skills, adaptive behaviours, and autism symptomatology (e.g., deficits in social-emotional reciprocity, nonverbal communication, repetitive motor movements, inflexible adherence to routines) using standardized measures.
Report
We will provide a detailed report including a diagnostic formulation, appropriate next steps, and options for services.
Recommendations
You will receive recommendations from the assessment to assist in developing an Individual Education Plan (IEP) at school tailored to your child’s individual learning needs.
