Statement regarding OAP Announcement

“Earlier today, the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) announced changes to the Ontario Autism Program.”

While the past year has been stressful for the families we serve, our valued staff and our partners, we are encouraged by the changes the Ontario government has put forth. The Ministry has committed to meet the individual needs of children and youth with an autism spectrum disorder and focus on long-term outcomes. We support this direction.

We understand from the Ministry that this new program will take time to implement, and we look forward to receiving more information in the weeks ahead on how this new program will take shape. However, we know that one thing will remain unchanged, and that’s our commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based services”.
