Dear clients, caregivers, and community members,
The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) has selected Surrey Place as the lead agency to deliver the Preschool Speech & Language Program (PSL), Blind-Low Vision Early Intervention Program (BLVEIP) and Infant Hearing Program (IHP) for the Toronto Region. As one of Toronto Public Health’s (TPH) long-standing subcontracted partners for the delivery of the PSL and BLVEIP, Surrey Place has existing administrative efficiencies and continuity of service that will support our capacity to seamlessly integrate these services.Â
As of April 1, 2022, Surrey Place will take over from TPH to lead these important clinical early identification and intervention services to children and their families in Toronto. As a multi-service agency with a broad network of clinicians and professionals, Surrey Place has extensive experience in delivering specialized clinical child development services that are responsive to individual and family needs.Â
This new programming will allow for a streamlined service navigation pathway between clinical service providers, a reduction in wait-times, and improved child health outcomes through earlier identification and intervention for children experiencing vision loss, hearing impairments and delays in their speech and language development.
We are proud to be collaborating with the MCCSS to support families and the community with responsive and innovative plans of care to meet their needs. Â
